Google Maps: Google Transit in Paris

Google today announced the arrival of Google Transit in Paris. Backed by Google Maps, this feature provides information on transport to Paris. Access is available from both the mobile computer.

For directions by public transport, Google Transit provides various information like the metro and RER stops nearby, times, train frequency and duration of trips to Paris intramuros.

In practice, the user enters a route in Google Maps and select the icon "In transit" placed between "Drive" and "Walk". Google Transit takes into account the time of the trip to provide its information ... to the extent that some are available.

Google Transit was available for 500 cities around the world, including several in France like Bordeaux, Perpignan and Strasbourg. Once is not custom, the French capital was not the first served.

Google Maps is not the only service online mapping to deliver such information, it is also the case for example Here, the evolution of Nokia Maps that the Finnish company has recently introduced.
