EBook readers: sales doubled in a year, according to GfK

It sold 300,000 electronic reading lights in France this year, according to GfK.

Sales should democratize reading lights in 2012, with more than 300 000 copies sold in France according to GfK, more than double last year. 27 000 in 2010, sales of e-readers rose to 145,000 in 2011 before reaching probably 300 000 this year.

This dynamic is in response to good numbers in 2011, when 1.1 million digital books have been downloaded, for a total of 12 million euros. GfK publishes forecasts for growth over the next four years relatively optimistic, with a turnover sector estimated at 55 million in 2015.

The Reader is not the only medium capable of reading digital books. This is also the case of computers and especially tablets, are also participating fully in the growth of this market.
