Facebook draws a new search engine

Facebook acquires a search engine to find more effective content stored on the social network. "We view Facebook as a large database of social and like any database, you should be able to search in," he said at an event organized group on campus in Menlo Park, California .

Unlike conventional engines such as Google, Facebook launched by function, called Graph Search does conduct research on the content posted by its members.

What about confidentiality?

Facebook founder assured that the new function is "aware of the confidentiality criteria" published data, recognizing that this was the main problem: the user who initiates the search will be offered as content that the author has agreed to share with him.

Facebook users will be able to research eg music or movies beloved of their "friends," he said.

The search function is launched initially in a limited way, in a "beta". It is for the moment only available in English and only concerns four areas: people, photos, interests and locations.
